Ace

Yesterday was our first orientation for London! I got to meet a lot of my fellow travelers from the J-School. I definitely felt out numbered by the strategic communication people, but everyone seemed nice. Well, as nice as anyone can be at 9:00 in the morning the week before spring break.
But anyway, I think that we're all very excited to be starting the process of, well, everything! We got information on how to start (and finish) applying for the United Kingdom Visa that we need to work at our internship.
We're also supposed to start looking at flights, which means a lot of money is going to be spent. I was so excited to check out prices yesterday that I've already reserved a ticket. I guess that was smart on my part because the price went up in just one day! It's crazy. Three words though: frequent flier miles. They're a beautiful thing, and thank goodness my parents got me hooked up with that. I don't quite have enough to cover the entire trip, but oh well. I need to talk to my family's travel agent to book everything, but it's looking good so far!
I can't really explain my excitement. I love traveling, and this experience will give me so many great memories and help me with learning the tricks of the journalism trade!
I'll write again after our next big step towards London.
